Shields began her modeling career at the age of 11 months in 1966. The part belonged to Ivory Soap. In the controversial 1978 film “Pretty Baby” by Louis Malle, in which she portrayed a child prostitute in New Orleans at the turn of the 20th century, she received much attention and acclaim.
