He was raised in a Catholic family by his mother, Mary (a nurse), father, Ronald (an internist), and older brothers, Paul and Kevin. In sixth grade, John took on the role of Daddy Warbucks in a school performance of “Annie.” He went to Newton South High School with B.J. Novak, who later co-starred in “The Office” alongside John, and as seniors, he appeared in a play by Novak. Krasinski earned his bachelor’s degree in 1997 and spent the summer teaching English in Costa Rica. He received a Bachelor of Arts in English in 2001 from Brown University and an honorary degree in 2019.
