He received his higher education at King’s College, Cambridge, where he studied history. Rushdie began his career as a copywriter for the advertising companies Ogilvy & Mather and Ayer Barker. Mustafa Mahmoud Mazeh was assassinated in August 1989 when a bomb he built inside a book exploded prematurely.
