Who is Dhanush: Venkatesh Prabhu Kasturi Raja born on 28 July 1983, is known professionally as Dhanush. He is an Indian actor and producer. He is also a director, lyricist and singer. He mainly works in Tamil cinema. He acted in 46 films in his career. Having done this, his accolades also include four National Film Awards, fourteen SIIMA Awards, seven Filmfare Awards South and one Filmfare Award. Dhanush is one of the highest-paid actors in Indian cinema.

Dhanush was born into a middle-class family. His father’s name is Kasturi Raja. His father worked as a mill worker before entering the film industry. His mother Vijayalakshmi is a housewife. His brother, K. Selvaraghavan is a director.

Dhanush married on 18 November 2004. His wife was Aishwarya, the eldest daughter of actor Rajinikanth. He has two sons. One is named Yatra and the other is named Linga. Who were born in 2006 and 2010. The couple decided to separate on January 17, 2022.

Controversy

A Tamil couple had filed a case in a court in 2017 claiming that Dhanush was their son and demanded Rs 65,000 as monthly maintenance allowance. According to R Kathiresan and his wife Meenakshi, Dhanush was their third son who ran away from home. In the case, Kathiresan claimed that the actor had removed scars from his body and the birth certificate filed in the court was not authentic as Dhanush’s name and registration were removed from it. They said that they are Dhanush’s real parents and that Dhanush, whose real name is Kalaichevalan, is an actor who ran away from Chennai to pursue his acting career. Kamal Haasan’s daughter Shruti Haasan’s name was linked with Dhanush.

The revelation of Dhanush’s extramarital affair had attracted a lot of media attention. When the film 3 was being made, both of them often spent time together. Shruti is Dhanush’s childhood friend and his wife Aishwarya has directed the film. That’s why Aishwarya chose to cast Shruti in her third film. Dhanush made his debut with the film Thulluvadho Ilamai under the direction of his father Kasturi Raja. This film was a big hit throughout Tamil Nadu. Then, Dhanush was taken over by his brother Selvaraghavan for Kadhal Kondane. Which was Selva’s first film and which made Dhanush famous. Subsequently, Thiruda Thirudi, a commercial film also became a blockbuster. Then came his first failure, Pudhukottaiyilirindhu Saravanan, directed by Stanley.
