Ripa immediately began getting local television appearances, and her first national television appearance came in 1986 when she was cast as a regular dancer on the show Dancin’ On Air. This led to a position at Dance Party USA.
Ripa became famous in 1990 on the ABC soap series “All My Children” as party girl Hayley Vaughn Santos. She appeared on the soap opera from 1990 to 2002, where she met her future husband, co-star Mark Consuelos. She worked on the comedy “Hope and Faith” after “All My Children.”
Ripa has co-hosted the morning talk show “Live with Regis and Kelly” since February 2001 while at the same time continuing to act in numerous television shows and movies, including “Hope and Faith” and “Missing.” The banter and chemistry between Ripa and her co-star Regis Philbin drew many new viewers to the show and helped it achieve high ratings.
