Hayden Christensen was born in Vancouver but raised in Ontario. As a youth, he succeeded at sports, joining hockey teams and playing tennis at the provincial level.

Hayden Christensen began his acting career in the early 1990s with a role in Family Passions, a German-Canadian television series. His first film role was in John Carpenter’s In the Mouth of Madness the following year, and he later appeared in Harrison Bergeron, The Virgin Suicides and Goosebumps, Forever Knight.
Christensen’s appearance on the television series Higher Ground increased his popularity worldwide in 2000.
