Russell Brand Biography: Russell Edward Brand was born on June 4, 1975, in Grays, Essex, England. Ronald, his father, was a photographer who left when Russell was six months old. Russell lived with relatives for a time while his mother, Barbara, was undergoing uterine and breast cancer treatment. Brand got bulimia nervosa at the age of 14, and he left his mother’s home at the age of 16. He quickly started using marijuana, ecstasy, LSD, and amphetamines.
Russell made his theatrical debut at the age of 15 in a Grays School performance of “Bugsy Malone” and soon began working as an extra in movies. Brand then attended the Italia Conti Academy for a year before being expelled for low attendance and drug use; he was also removed from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art’s Drama Centre.

Russell married Katy Perry on October 23, 2010. The couple met when she appeared in a cameo for “Get Him to the Greek” in mid-2009 and began dating after meeting at the MTV Music Video Awards in September. Russell married blogger Laura Gallacher on August 26, 2017, after Brand and Perry divorced in July 2012. Mabel (born in November 2016) and Peggy (born in July 2018) are Brand and Gallacher’s two kids.
