Shivraj Singh Chauhan Biography: An Indian politician and a member of Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP), who have served as the chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh many times, beginning the year from 2005. He is known for his leadership and also for his initiatives in various departments. From 2005 to 2018, he served as a CM of Madhya Pradesh and then again since 2020. He was also a member of Legislative assembly of Madhya Pradesh since 2006 and earlier from 1990 to 1991. He was one of the longest CM.
From 2019 to 2020, he have been national Vice president former of BJP. From 2000 to 2002, he was a National President of Bhartiya Janta Yuva Morcha. When he was 13 years old he joined RSS.

Early Life
Shivraj Singh Chauhan was born on 5th March, 1959, in Jait Village of Sehore District in Madhya Pradesh, India. He belongs to a middle-class family. During his college years, he was actively taking part in student’s politics and also became a member of RSS. He involved in politics and also in social work resulted in the foundation for his career as a leader in BJP.
Chauhan worked as a farmer too and also worked at BJP at various positions and this helped him in becoming a prominent figure in MP. He became CM of the state Madhya Pradesh because of his commitment to work for people and a dedication for public service which led him to become CM.
Education
He completed his higher education from Model Higher Secondary School in Sehore. After that he went to pursue Bachelor of Arts degree from Bhopal’s Barkatullah University. He also did MA in philosophy from the same university.

Political Career
In 1980s, he began his political career when he became member of BJP. He rose through the ranks working in this party, where he hold various positions at the local and state levels. Chauhan’s dedication towards the service for his people made him win and earn lot of respect and reputation in the state.
In 1990, He was elected as a member of Legislative Assembly from Budhni to serve as a MLA from Budhni consistency in MP. He continued to serve as a MLA, and won the re-elections in 1993, 1998 and 2003. When he was a MLA, he held several ministries and positions, like Minister of State for General Administration, Panchayat and Rurak Development, and parliamentary affairs.
In 2005, he was appointed as a CM of Madhya Pradesh, succeeding Babulal Gaur. He led to the BJP’s victory in 2008 and 2013 state assembly election, and secured third term as CM. Chauhan’s tenure as CM was marked by various initiatives aiming at improving the state’s infrastructure, healthcare, education and agriculture sector. He also made an effort in promoting investment and industrial development in MP.
His leadership was praised for his efforts in poverty alleviation, rural development and women’s empowerment. He also implemented various schemes such as Ladli Laxmi Yojana, Kanyadan Yojana, Mukhyamantri Teerth Darshan Yojana which aimed at improving the lives of women and marginalized community in the state.
His tenure came to an end in 2018, when BJP lost the state assembly elections to INC. however, he was still an influential figure in the party and part in state politics.
In 2020, he once again appointed as a CM of MP, continued to serve his role, focusing on addressing various developmental challenges and making efforts to the welfare of citizens.

He received NDTV Indian of the year award in 2011. In 2022, he received Champion of the Change award.
